The house is situated in a peaceful, old part of Vis named Kut. Comfortable for 5-7 persons and just a few minutes’ walk from the sea, you will find everything you need for a relaxing holiday.
The architecture of the 3-storey house is modern and yet simple. The entrance floor houses a fully equipped kitchen and an outdoor lounge terrace.
Using the stairs, you’ll reach the bedrooms and bathrooms. The bottom floor has a capacity for 2-3 persons, a bathroom and a terrace with a separate entrance. From the master bedroom on the top floor you can watch the sunset over the bay. It has a double bed, a bathroom and a little balcony.
The old stone house was probably built in the 1830’s and was carefully rebuilt in 2008, by craftsmen specializing in traditional stonemasonry. From the terraces and balcony you have a stunning view over the hills and the bay, the oleander and palm trees and the picturesque settlement of Kut with its old church. Within a few minutes’ walk you can reach beaches, cafés and some of the best restaurants in Vis, serving the most delicious seafood. The surroundings invite to long walks, jogging or biking tours.
In the lush garden behind the house, you will find another, smaller, stone house studio apartment with room for 1-2 persons. The house has a bathroom and a kitchenette. The small patio is covered in vines and surrounded by lemon, pomegranate and fig trees. Here you can enjoy the balmy summer evenings around the BBQ.
Peace for the soul
The green island of Vis is the most remote inhabited Croatian island in the Adriatic Sea, with some 3.500 inhabitants in total. Being a military base and a strategic spot for 45 years, the island was not exploited at all, and opened for tourists as late as 1998.
The main town, also called Vis (Issa) is the oldest settlement, situated in a protected bay on the north side of the island, surrounded by hills with a view to the Dalmatian mainland and the island of Hvar.
Behind the hills, the fertile valleys are cultivated with vines and olives. The vineyards are among the best in Dalmatia. The coast is mostly untouched, with hundreds of small bays and beaches. And the crystal clear sea is one the cleanest parts of the Mediterranean.
Vis is a place to regenerate.
